Argan oil and its production in a Berber cooperative
Organic argan oil, which is imported for you by the family company Orient House, is produced exclusively in women's Berber cooperatives directly in Morocco. These women's cooperatives bring together disadvantaged Moroccan women who, thanks to this work, have hope for a better life, the opportunity to earn something and take care of their families.
The family company Errais, which ensures the production of argan and prickly pear oil for us, cooperates with several cooperatives in the Essauri area. Cooperation takes place on the principle of fair trade - a fair wage for work. This wage that Berber women earn constitutes a significant part of their income.
Local women decide for themselves how much they earn, as their wages depend on the amount of broken and cleaned argan nuts. The producer buys the peeled fruits of the argania spinosa tree from the cooperative.
Argan oil from Orient House is produced by a family business that works with several women's Berber cooperatives directly in Morocco. By purchasing our argan oil directly from Morocco, you are supporting these women with us. Women and mothers who work in cooperatives and thanks to your purchase can continue to work freely, feed their children and families.
